Jerry Ross Keynote Speaker of 2nd Annual Distinguished Entrepreneur Award's Ceremony
Award recognizes small to mid-size Southwest Florida business that has captured the formula for success
Fort Myers, FL (December 5, 2012) – The Small Business Development Center at Florida Gulf Coast University is pleased to announce the 2013 Distinguished Entrepreneur Award. The award recognizes a small to mid-sized Southwest Florida business for its overall success as well as provides an opportunity for the local business community to celebrate its achievements.
The 2013 event builds on the success of the inaugural Distinguished Entrepreneur Award. The sold-out inaugural event was held in May and honored Southwest Florida entrepreneur and chocolatier Norman Love of Norman Love Confections as the first Distinguished Entrepreneur Award recipient.
The 2013 Distinguished Entrepreneur Award will be presented at the 2nd Annual Awards Dinner on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in the ballroom at the Cohen Center on the Florida Gulf Coast University campus.
“Southwest Florida has shown that it loves to come together and recognize the business community for its achievements,” said Dan Regelski, Director of the Small Business Development Center. “With the 2013 Distinguished Entrepreneur Award, we continue this exciting new tradition and showcase the many successes of our local entrepreneurs.”
The keynote speaker for the Distinguished Entrepreneur Awards and Dinner will be Jerry Ross, the Executive Director of the National Entrepreneur Center in Orlando. Known to be a dynamic and entertaining presenter, Ross will speak on the topic of the state of entrepreneurship and small business in the state of Florida and nationally. A lifelong entrepreneur with over 30 years of business experience, including leadership positions with AT&T, Ohio Bell and Goal Systems Software, the Orlando Business Journal called Ross “a virtual business incubator” and a “small business grower.” His practical approach to growing small businesses has made him a nationally recognized speaker and trusted advisor.
